In keeping with its National Historic Landmark status, Ferndale has no movie theaters. It has something better: the Ferndale Repertory Theatre. Converted in 1972 from a movie theater, the 267-seat house hosts live performances by actors from all over Humboldt County. The revolving performances run pretty much year-round and range from musicals to comedies, dramas, and mysteries.
