The Clarke Historical Museum in Eureka (240 E St.; 707/443-1947; www.clarkemuseum.org), has a wonderful collection of Native American baskets and other artifacts, and the Morris Graves Museum of Art (636 F St.; 707/442-0278; www.humboldtarts.org), features four galleries showcasing local artists as well as traveling exhibitions. Also check out the kid-friendly Humboldt State University Natural History Museum in Arcata at 1315 G St. (707/826-4479), open Tuesday through Saturday from 10am to 5pm.
