The first floor of the Cobblestone Inn was built of stones from the Carmel River (hence the inn's name), and the cobblestone theme runs throughout this faux English-county charmer. The guest rooms encircle a slate courtyard and vary in size; some are small, and only the Junior Suite comes with a bathtub, but all come with a queen or king bed, fireplace, television, and refrigerator with complimentary soft drinks. The largest units have a wet bar, sofa, and separate bedroom. Guests may use the comfortable living room with a large stone fireplace (cobblestone, of course). Extras include a breakfast buffet served on the patio or sitting room, afternoon wine and hors d'oeuvres, daily maid and turndown service, and a morning newspaper.
