This historic and pet-friendly Lake Tahoe lodge consists of cute red cabins nestled on a gentle forest slope surrounded by flowers and sugar pines. The units have a private bathroom, a comfy king- or queen-size bed, and are individually decorated with paintings of bucolic settings; all units have gas-log fireplaces many with old fashioned claw-foot tub/shower. The largest cabins, Treehouse and Sugar Pine, sleep up to six, ideal for families. For guests staying in the B&B cottages, a family style breakfast is served in the main lodge’s common room every morning from 8 to 10am. Nearby activities include snowshoeing, cross country skiing, and downhill skiing at nearby Homewood, Alpine Meadows, and Squaw Valley ski areas. The bike path is open from the B&B to Sugar pine Point State Park and to Tahoe City, also golf in Kings Beach. The Pool at Squaw Valley High Camp is open as well. Skiing will continue for Alpine and Squaw for spring skiing till end of May. The friendly owners, Ulli and Dick White, will happily give advice on the best nearby hiking and fishing spots (Dick’s an avid fly-fisherman).
